Informatie rondom het coronavirus
In navolging van de Rijksoverheid neemt ook de TU Delft maatregelen om de verspreiding van het coronavirus tegen te gaan. We doen hierbij ons uiterste best om ervoor te zorgen dat het onderwijs zoveel mogelijk online kan worden aangeboden, onderzoek geborgd is en cruciale processen goed blijven lopen.
Op deze pagina vindt u meer informatie. Kort samengevat gelden voor de TU Delft de volgende uitgangspunten tot 1 september:
- Thuiswerken blijft de norm, in ieder geval tot 1 september. Dat is lastig, maar we moeten allemaal nog even doorzetten. Kom alleen naar de campus als het echt niet anders kan, ook als bezoeker.
- Blijf sowieso thuis als jijzelf of een van je huisgenoten klachten heeft.
- Tot 1 september blijven al het onderwijs en alle (her)tentamens in principe online. Alleen kleinschalig afstudeerwerk (indien niet online mogelijk) kan beperkt doorgang vinden.
- Promoties vinden doorgang, zij het in sterk aangepaste vorm.
- Inkomende en uitgaande uitwisselingsprogramma’s zijn helaas geannuleerd voor het eerste semester 2020-2021.
- Studieplekken op de campus zijn maar zeer beperkt beschikbaar.
- Onderzoek en werkzaamheden die niet op afstand kunnen worden uitgevoerd, vinden in aangepaste vorm plaats op de campus.
- Het beleid ten aanzien van reizen voor medewerkers en studenten blijft aangescherpt. Reizen boeken via de TU Delft blijft tot nader order niet mogelijk voor risicogebieden of landen met een rood of oranje reisadvies. Reis alleen indien noodzakelijk en in overleg met je leidinggevende.
- X gaat gefaseerd open voor buitensporten.
- Tot slot, het is een bijzondere tijd voor ons allemaal. Weet dat je er niet alleen voor staat. Als je het moeilijk hebt, zoek dan hulp. Voor onze medewerkers en studenten geldt dat ze te allen tijde terecht kunnen bij hun leidinggevende of de studieadviseur.
Hoe ziet het nieuwe academische jaar er uit?
De TU Delft is volop bezig met het vormgeven van het volgende academische jaar. Dat krijgt steeds meer gestalte en zal een combinatie worden van fysiek en online onderwijs. We zullen nog veel onderwijs online moeten laten plaatsvinden, maar we zien ook de beperkingen daarvan. We kijken dan ook naar alle mogelijkheden om online met fysiek onderwijs te combineren, mondjesmaat en stap voor stap. Daarbij spreiden we het onderwijs zoveel mogelijk over de dag uit.
De universiteiten zijn blij met de recente versoepelingen die landelijk zijn aangekondigd, zodat er meer ruimte ontstaat om te kijken naar meer mogelijkheden voor fysiek onderwijs en spreiding over de gehele dag.
Een aantal uitgangspunten en prioriteiten voor de opstart van het nieuwe collegejaar zie je in onderstaande tijdlijn.
In september verwelkomen we ook onze nieuwe eerstejaars bachelor- en masterstudenten. Het is belangrijk dat zij hun weg snel kunnen vinden. Op dit moment bereiden we een aangepaste, maar warme introductietijd voor.
Information regarding the coronavirus
Following the Dutch government’s measures, TU Delft is also taking measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus. In doing so, we will make every effort to ensure that education can be offered online as much as possible, that research is guaranteed and that crucial processes continue to run smoothly.
On this page you will find more information. In short, the following starting points apply to TU Delft until 1 September:
- Working from home remains the norm. That is difficult, but we have to keep going. We urge you not to come to the campus unless there’s really no alternative; this goes for visitors too.
- Do stay at home if you or one of your housemates are showing any symptoms.
- In principle, all education and all exams will remain online until 1 September. Some small-scale graduation work that cannot be moved online, may take place on campus to a limited extent.
- PhD defences will take place, although in a strongly modified form.
- Unfortunately incoming and outgoing exchange programs are cancelled for first semester 2020-2021
- Study places on campus are only available to a very limited extent.
- Research and activities that cannot be carried out remotely, take place in an adapted form on campus.
- Travel policy for staff and students remains tightened. Until further notice, it is not possible to book trips via TU Delft to high-risk areas or countries with a red or orange travel advice. Travel only if necessary and in consultation with your manager.
- X is gradually reopening for outdoor sports
- Finally, this is a complex time for all of us. Know you’re not on your own. If you are having a hard time, please seek help. Our employees and students can contact their manager or study advisor at any time.
What will the coming academic year look like?
An outline of the coming academic year at TU Delft is taking shape more and more. It is likely to feature a mixture of online and on-campus education.
While a lot of education will still have to take place online, we are also seeing the limitations of that. We are therefore looking at all possibilities to combine online with on-campus education, piecemeal and step by step. To achieve this, we will spread out the education over the day as much as possible.
The universities are pleased with the recent easing that has been announced nationwide. This creates room to look at more opportunities for on-campus education and the spreading of educational activities throughout the day.
A number of starting points and priorities for the start of the new academic year can be seen in the timeline below.
In September we welcome our first-year bachelor and master students. It is important that they quickly learn to find their way around. We are in the process of preparing an introduction period in adapted form that should still give them a warm welcome.
